Y6 Careers Week
During the Summer Term, Y6 took part in a Careers Week. We had visits from Kirklees College, some university students, several people who run their own businesses (sometimes more than one business at once!), the police service and Transpennine Express workers as well as having conversations with an Environmental Manager, a Heath and Safety Assurance Manager, a Civil Engineer, a Designer and even an influencer (who is also an Optometrist!). Our Y6 pupils also had the opportunity to talk to our own members of staff as well as teachers from other schools. The aim of the week was to give our pupils a chance to find out more about different careers and then to think about what they would like to do when they are older (and the qualifications they will need).
We would like to say a BIG thank you to all of the visitors who came to speak to our pupils during Careers Week - we really appreciate you helping us to make a difference.
